I discovered this tea when I ordered chamomile tea at a restaurant in a small town in Bingen Oregon, in the gorge, when traveling through there. I saved the wrapper so I could hopefully order it for myself. The blend is perfect in these bags - the delicate netting they come in is so pretty and tasteful. I have given it to my daughter and others - it’s just a classy tea with the perfect taste. Especially with honey in it.

Rishi Chamomile Medley is one of those teas that manages to feel comforting without tasting like you accidentally steeped a decorative sachet from a spa gift basket.

Straight out of the package, the aroma leans toward chamomile with a hint of spearmint and vanilla. Once brewed, everything settles down nicely. The spearmint stays light, the vanilla shows up gently in the flavor, and the chamomile gives it a soft, mellow finish without wandering into grassy, medicinal, or dusty territory.

It has a natural sweetness on its own, though I like adding a small touch of maple syrup and milk to bring out the flavors.

Some may consider this an evening tea, but it’s good enough that I drink it even when I’m not actively trying to convince my nervous system that the day is over. It has enough body to feel satisfying, handles a slightly overenthusiastic steep without becoming unpleasant, and the spearmint gives it a clean finish without making you wonder whether you’ve brewed toothpaste.

It’s cozy, mellow, subtly indulgent, and absolutely something I’ll buy again.

When I read the description of this blend I was very eager to try it! I do wish that the spearmint/lemongrass/lemon verbena was a little stronger/more prominent in the mixture. I do prefer this blend over just plain chamomile tea. The color of this tea is beautiful though, a very bright warm yellow. I think this is a great soothing bedtime blend. Perfect for relaxation. Love the big resealable bag.
